ABOUT GEORGE FOUNDATION OF THE ARTS

About
Us

The George Foundation of the Arts is a registered non-profit company
founded in 2023 to provide training, support and performance opportunities to young performers and artists of all communities of the Garden Route, Western Cape.

The Foundation’s activities incorporate:

- Securing funding, donations and sponsorships to implement training

  opportunities in the arts, culminating in scholarships to deserving young artists

  and musicians;
- Developing networks and feeder-systems for youth development in the

  disciplines of dance, drama, creative writing, visual art as well as vocal

  and instrumental music;
- Presenting quality performance opportunities such as eisteddfods,

  competitions, exhibitions, concert tours and stage productions for its

  beneficiaries to display their talent, skills and growth.

In 2023 the Foundation successfully revived and presented the George Eisteddfod under the title "South Cape Arts Festival," showcasing the talent of approximately 600 children and youth (grades AA to 12) from various schools, studios and communities in George.

In 2024, dance and special needs were introduced, receiving more than 1000 entries.

Our 2025 edition featured 2000+ entries: 230 dance, 700 drama, 500 visual arts and 500+ Contemporary and Western Art Music vocal and instrumental participants.

We can't wait for 2026 to reach a wider spectrum of communities in the region!
